Retirement

California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS)

Eligible employees of Madera County participate in a defined benefit retirement plan through CalPERS, the nation’s largest public pension fund. Designed to provide lifelong financial security, your pension is calculated based on your age, years of service, and final compensation at the time of retirement. This benefit features a five-year vesting period, and reciprocity may be available for those with qualifying service time at other public agencies.
